Itinerary

Day-1 Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

After breakfast in Errachidia, 3 days Errachidia to Fes desert tour towards the Sahara Desert. Travel along the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and fortified ksour (villages). Stop for panoramic views and photos before continuing to Erfoud, known as the “Gate of the Desert” and famous for its date festivals and fossil workshops.

Proceed to Rissani, the last major town before the Sahara, with its traditional market and ancient ksars. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where you will check into your riad or desert hotel. Free time to relax or explore the edge of the dunes. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.

Day-2 Explore Merzouga Area – Camel Trek & Desert Camp

After breakfast, discover the Merzouga region:

Visit Khamlia village to enjoy traditional Gnawa music.

Meet nomadic Berber families living near the Algerian border. Lunch in Khamlia village, then return to your accommodation for rest. In the late afternoon, begin a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Watch the breathtaking sunset before arriving at your desert camp. Enjoy dinner around the campfire under a sky filled with stars. Overnight in a Berber tent.

Explore the Mifis mines and nearby desert plateaus with panoramic views.

Day-3 Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Drive back through Erfoud and the Ziz Valley, stopping for photo opportunities. Cross the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to reach Midelt for lunch.

Continue through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you may see Barbary macaques. Pass by Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes in the evening, where your tour concludes.
