Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga

After breakfast, depart from Fes and head toward Ifrane, a picturesque town often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, continue to Azrou, nestled in the cedar forest, where you might spot Barbary monkeys. Then, drive through the Middle Atlas to Midelt, crossing the Tizi N’Talghamt Pass and the scenic Ziz Gorge.

After lunch in Errachidia, follow the lush Ziz Valley, stopping for photos along the way. Finally, arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon for dinner and overnight at a riad.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga & Camel Trek

In the morning, visit Khamlia village, famous for Gnawa music, and the Mifis mines. Then, meet local nomadic families before returning to your hotel for mint tea. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoying the sunset. Finally, arrive at your desert camp for dinner under the stars and overnight in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After sunrise, return by camel to Merzouga and then drive toward Rissani and Tinghir. Next, explore the dramatic Todra Gorges, Morocco’s highest and narrowest canyon. After lunch, continue to the Dades Valley, admiring its kasbahs and the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations. By evening, enjoy dinner and overnight in a kasbah hotel.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs and through the Valley of Roses, visiting the Skoura Oasis and Kasbah Amridil. Then, stop at Ouarzazate to see the Taourirt Kasbah, before continuing to the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou. Finally, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass with scenic stops, arriving in Marrakech by evening to conclude your 4-day desert tour.
